1. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing a ticket, registering as a vendor, volunteering, or attending the Interstate PHAmily Classic (the "Event"), you ("Attendee," "Participant," or "You") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase a ticket or attend the Event.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Adelphic Union Lodge #14, F. & A.M. ("AUL #14," "Lodge," "We," or "Organizers"), the presenting organization of the Interstate PHAmily Classic.
2. Event Information
The Interstate PHAmily Classic is a community sporting and cultural event scheduled for:
- Date: August 29, 2026
- Time: 12:30 PM – 7:00 PM EDT
- Location: Riverbank State Park, 679 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10031
- Organizer: Adelphic Union Lodge #14, F. & A.M.
Event details, schedule, and programming are subject to change. The Organizers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the Event at their sole discretion. In the event of cancellation, the Organizers' liability shall be limited to a refund of the ticket purchase price.
3. Assumption of Risk
By attending or participating in the Event, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with attendance at a public outdoor gathering and participation in or observation of athletic activities, including but not limited to:
- Physical contact, collision, or injury inherent to basketball, kickball, or recreational sport
- Slips, falls, or accidents on event grounds, including outdoor athletic surfaces
- Exposure to weather conditions, including heat, sun exposure, or inclement weather
- Crowd-related incidents or the actions of other attendees
- Allergic reactions to food or beverages available at the Event
- Any injury resulting from the use of facilities, equipment, or amenities at Riverbank State Park
You acknowledge that you are physically capable of attending and/or participating in the Event and that you have not been advised by a medical professional to refrain from such activities. You accept full responsibility for your own safety and well-being throughout the duration of the Event.
4. Release and Hold Harmless Agreement
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT CONTAINS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A COVENANT NOT TO SUE.
In consideration of being permitted to attend, participate in, or otherwise be present at the Interstate PHAmily Classic, you, on behalf of yourself, your heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, hereby agree to the following:
4.1 Release of Liability. You hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Adelphic Union Lodge #14, F. & A.M. ("AUL #14"), its officers, worshipful masters, wardens, members, stewards, and affiliated brethren; the Interstate PHAmily Classic planning committee; all co-organizers, co-sponsors, volunteers, staff, vendors, and agents involved in the planning or execution of the Event (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained by you while attending or participating in the Event or while on or off the premises of Riverbank State Park in connection with the Event.
4.2 Hold Harmless and Indemnification. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your attendance at or participation in the Event; (b) your violation of these Terms and Conditions; (c) your violation of any law or regulation; or (d) any act, omission, or negligence by you or any person attending the Event at your invitation or with your ticket.
4.3 Scope. This release and hold harmless agreement applies to all activities connected with the Event, including but not limited to athletic competition (basketball and kickball), spectator activities, food and beverage consumption, vendor interactions, after-party events, transportation to and from the venue, and use of parking facilities.
By purchasing a ticket or attending the Event, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this release and hold harmless provision and that you agree to be bound by it. You acknowledge that this agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of New York.
5. Tickets and Admission
- Tickets are $20.00 per person and are non-refundable except in the event of Event cancellation by the Organizers.
- Tickets are non-transferable without prior written consent of the Organizers.
- The Organizers reserve the right to refuse admission to any person at their sole discretion.
- All attendees must comply with the rules and regulations of Riverbank State Park in addition to these Terms.
- Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced.
6. Code of Conduct
All attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful, lawful, and consistent with the values of community, fellowship, and sportsmanship that the PHAmily Classic represents. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment, discrimination, or threatening behavior toward any attendee, volunteer, or staff member
- Possession or use of weapons of any kind
- Possession or consumption of unauthorized alcohol or illegal substances
- Destruction of or damage to venue property
- Unauthorized solicitation or commercial activity
- Any behavior that endangers the safety of other attendees
The Organizers reserve the right to remove any attendee from the Event without refund for violation of this Code of Conduct or for any conduct deemed disruptive or harmful to other attendees.
7. Photography and Media
By attending the Event, you grant AUL #14 and the Interstate PHAmily Classic an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to photograph, film, record, and use your image, voice, and likeness in connection with coverage of the Event for promotional, educational, and archival purposes, including on the Event website and social media channels. If you do not consent, you must notify event staff upon arrival.
8. Vendor Terms
Vendors participating in the Event are subject to a separate Vendor Agreement in addition to these Terms. All vendors must: maintain appropriate business licenses and insurance; comply with applicable New York City and New York State health and safety regulations; operate only within their designated booth area; and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims arising from the sale of their products or services at the Event.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Released Parties shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your attendance at the Event, even if the Released Parties have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall the total liability of the Released Parties to you exceed the amount you paid for your ticket to the Event.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Event shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under applicable law, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
12. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any Vendor Agreement or other written agreement between you and the Organizers, constitute the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties.
